Since mid-September, over 14,000 people have been detained in Iran for protesting the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, a woman who was detained for allegedly breaking strict hijab rules. One person has been sentenced to death and human rights groups are warning that future death sentences could be handed down without due process. She said the western world must understand there is a difference between the regime and the Iranian people, who are worth fighting for.
